TEAM Holmes Matz
Chelsea Holmes Matz
Born and raised in Alma, Chelsea left home for 14 years before coming back in 2021 to accept the position of the Executive Director at the Gratiot County Community Foundation. She loves having the opportunity to work with incredible people in Gratiot County and give back to the community that shaped her today. Chelsea has dual citizenship with Luxembourg! Her great-grandmother immigrated from Luxembourg and because of her mom they had the opportunity to become a citizen at the start of 2023. Fun fact about Drew, her husband and dance partner, he was a lifeguard at Stoney Creek Metro Park and while lifeguarding he successfully performed CPR to help save a person’s life!
Drew Matz
Drew is originally from Shelby Township, but resides here in Alma with his wife Chelsea and daughter Emilia now. He is a Naval Architect, designing ships and specializes in computational fluid dynamics and hull designs. He loves to travel and has been to ten countries outside the U.S. across five different continents and can say “I like cheese” in four different languages! Drew says Chelsea was a 2-sport All-State athlete in swimming and track at Alma High School and the 2008 Alma Queen of Scots, so she should be ready to perform!
