UWGIC President Elected President of Mt. Pleasant Rotary Club

On June 24, 2024 our President & CEO Annie Sanders, was inaugurated as President of the Rotary Club of Mt. Pleasant. Annie has been deeply involved in Rotary since joining in 2018, with the last year serving as president elect.

To kick off her year of service as President, Annie remarked on The Magic of Rotary:

“Rotary International's Presidential theme for this year is The Magic of Rotary!

It's the magic of compassion, of selflessness, and of service above self. It's the magic that transforms communities. Rotary's magic lies in its ability to unite people from different backgrounds and cultures under a common goal—to make the world a better place.

I am excited about the year ahead and the opportunities it presents for us to make a difference.”

Rotary Club of Mt. Pleasant is part of a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Clubs work together to:

  • Promote peace

  • Fight disease

  • Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene

  • Save mothers and children

  • Support education

  • Grow local economies

  • Protect the environment

In addition to their many avenues of service, each year the Rotary Club of Mt. Pleasant awards several grants to local nonprofits. In 2023-2024, the Rotary Club of Mt. Pleasant awarded over $29,800 to programs such as Habitat for Humanity, Mt. Pleasant Public Schools, Hopewell Ranch, and Isabella County Soup Kitchen. They also recognize local students and educators with their “Student Citizen of the Month” and “Golden Apple Award” programs.
Rotary Club of Mt. Pleasant meets weekly on Mondays for lunch at Mountain Town Station. To learn more and get involved, visit mprotary.com!
