TEAM Zimmerman & McMurphy
Quinne McMurphy
Quinne is from Ithaca and currently a Senior at Ithaca High School with plans to go to Ferris State University to study Optometry. She works as a secretary at Katie Tobias State Farm in Alma. As a part of her duties there she also manages the Community Cabinet, a 24/7 nonprofit food pantry. Quinne loves to crochet. She says that many people are surprised when she says this because it's typically a “grandma hobby”, but her grandma taught her how to do it! Her dance partner, Lakyn, and her have been best friends since they were four years old.
Lakyn Zimmerman
Lakyn is also from Ithaca and a Senior at Ithaca High School with plans to go to Alma College and play on the Golf Team. As a part of her co-op job she works at Katie Tobias State Farm and helps manage the Community Cabinet with Quinne. The food pantry is located in downtown Alma and offers anonymous food assistance to anyone in the community who needs it. Lakyn helps sustain the Community Cabinet by cleaning, filling, and organizing the cabinet daily, along with fundraising and working with local businesses on partnerships. Lakyn is on the golf team for Ithaca and a memorable moment was that her junior year she made a hole-in-one during a tournament at Tullymore Golf Resort.
