United Way Staff Graduates from the Rollie Denison Leadership Institute (RDLI)

United Way of Gratiot & Isabella Counties (UWGIC) is pleased to share that our Director of Engagement & Creative Services, Lindsey Lintjer, recently graduated from the Rollie Denison Leadership Institute (RDLI). RDLI is an intensive educational program that prepares individuals to be future leaders in the greater Mt. Pleasant area by learning about the many facets of the Mt. Pleasant community.

The program is sponsored by the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce. Leadership Institute participants learn about: Leadership Styles and Practices, Leadership Philosophies, Technology, Economic Development, Healthcare, Education, the Criminal Justice System, Business Ethics, Business Law, Cultural Diversity, Listening Skills, Legislative Affairs / State Government, Public Speaking, and Media Relations.

RDLI participants develop an incredible network of high-level contacts on which they can call for the remainder of their careers in the Mt. Pleasant community. Since its inception in 1990, the Rollie Denison Leadership Institute has helped more than 300 community members enhance their leadership abilities and put them to great use in their families, at work and throughout Isabella County community organizations.

“My leadership within our community has stemmed from my role at United Way. Working at United Way has opened up so many different avenues in terms of serving my community in a positive way such as joining various clubs and committees, creating new and exciting fundraising events, and partaking in numerous volunteer opportunities,” says Lindsey.

Lindsey joined the United Way staff in August 2015 and has continued to grow in her leadership throughout her time with UWGIC. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design. Her skills include advertising, marketing, communications, design and photography. Lindsey has a passion for working with nonprofit organizations and traveling abroad. In addition to design, Lindsey manages United Way's website, social media and volunteer platform.

Lindsey has held a position on the board of the Mt. Pleasant Jaycees since 2019 and is an active member of the Mt. Pleasant Craft Beer Festival committee that has raised over $200,000 for local nonprofit organizations since its inception. She’s been recognized by the Michigan Association of United Way’s as a 5 Under 25 Award Winner, a Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce Eagle Award Winner, and an Emerging Leader as part of the Middle Michigan Development Corporation’s “40 Under 40.”

UWGIC President & CEO, Annie Sanders shares, “Lindsey’s passion and innovation has helped to build and grow our communities. She has generated revenue through campaigns and initiatives. She has cultivated relationships with key community stakeholders. She sees the needs in the community and creates unique and creative ways to fill the gaps that exist for community members in need.”
