UWGIC Partners with Scouting America Michigan Crossroads Council

United Way of Gratiot & Isabella Counties is proud to support the work of the Scouting America Michigan Crossroads Council (MCC) through a matching grant. This year, supporters contributed $9,815 and United Way maximized those donations by matching the first $7,500, resulting in a successful $17,315 Matching Grant!

Our team members were recently provided the opportunity meet with MCC staff and tour Camp Rotary. Located in Clare, MI, Camp Rotary is one of five MCC camp properties in the state. During our visit, we learned about the many ways youth, both local and from across the country, utilize the camp for a variety of outdoor and leadership activities each year. Located in the central part of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, Camp Rotary has one of our country’s clearest spring-fed lakes, scenic rolling hills and fragrant pine trees, making it one of the most beautiful camps in the country. With over 1,100 acres and abundant natural resources, Camp Rotary is able to offer a wide variety of programs and welcomes Scout Troops, School, Church, Civic, Fraternal organizations and corporate groups on a year-round basis.

Scouts BSA, one of five programs under the Scouting umbrella, is a year-round program for boys and girls in fifth grade through high school that provides fun, adventure, learning, challenge, and responsibility to help them become the best version of themselves. Scouting is more than just a series of activities; it's a transformative experience that equips young individuals with the tools to become future leaders. Through a combination of educational activities and enriching experiences, Scouts BSA helps nurture the best in our youth, preparing them to tackle challenges and embrace opportunities with confidence and integrity.

We are proud to support the Scouting America Michigan Crossroads Council and their mission to provide life-changing experiences that shape the leaders of tomorrow. This successful Matching Grant is a testament to the impactful work being done by MCC. We look forward to witnessing the continued positive impact of our partnership with the Michigan Crossroads Council and the many bright futures that will be shaped as a result.
